As a child she took the ballet, tap and jazz dance lessons. The only time her 17th birthday came around when she started acting. She's competed in a variety of dance competitions. The film Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze was the catalyst for her becoming an actress. In the summer of 2001, Cook got married to her long-time partner Nathan Andersen, whom she was introduced to during a film course at Utah Valley University.
